Hunter's Moon

words and music by Paul Swanton (a.k.a. RkyMtnHi7)

A note from Paul: ""Hunter's Moon" was written about a dream I had about 2 people hiking and skiing atop a mountain called 'Snowman's Peak' in late Autumn up in northern Maine. (Hunter's Moon is the first full moon after Harvest Moon). As nightfall began to settle, they started their journey down the mountain, both enjoying the company of each other and the serenity of nature that surrounded them. As they reached their campsite, he invites her to join him by the campfire before they retire for the night... and shares with her something that's been on his mind... "

The sun is slowly fading, Hunter's moon is on the rise

Gleaming through the Autumn mist, and glowing in your eyes.

Cast upon the forest floor, your shadow blends with mine,

Sweetly dancing to the wind that whispers through the pine.

Snowman's Peak's so beautiful to me this time of year;

But unlike before, it's so much more, because I have you here.

The twinkling of the stars above, like Heaven's candlelight,

Shines down upon the trail we're on to guide us through the night.

Side by side, we will glide beneath the maple chandeliers

And listen to the echoes of their chimes;

Like harmony to melody, we complement their song

Living, laughing, loving too, as we stroll along....

Come, sit beside the fire with me, and share the ember glow,

And hear a song I wrote for you, just to let you know..

You're in my heart and in my dreams, and in every special way

Each day I love you more and more... than any words could say.
