LIVING FOR YOU

Instead of the tears and the deep-felt grief,
I will choose to remember and live your beliefs.

I remember your voice, your words and laughter,
That bring joy and peace to the world ever after.

You have lifted our spirits and taught so many how to fly,
I will live through your words, your deeds, and try not to cry.

But the tears that will come will forever be dried in the wind,
For the wind is your touch and will comfort my grief within.

From your wonders of nature to your light-hearted "far out!"
A smile will surround me and, when I look, you'll be throughout.

From the dancing skies and sparkling waters around me,
You are there in every breath, every sigh, every memory.

As I walk earth's paths not knowing where to go or what to do,
I know the voices inside me are you sent to guide me through.

With every note, every word, every sentiment you left behind,
I know you wrote from the heart and left for us as your sign.

A sign not only about how to live life to its fullest and best,
But to tell us we'll be fine without you while in heaven you rest.

Your passing, though too soon, has touched me somewhere deep inside,
And made me not afraid to one day fly to join you and be by your side.

Though I don't know when that day will eventually come,
A concert in heaven is what awaits us through your love.

Rest well my love for you've done more than your share here it seems,
It's time for us to pick up the pieces and carry on with your dreams.

In loving memory of John Denver
