ODE TO JOHN

Words and Music by
Michael Pushard

He raised his voice in songs, and so, people sang along.
He took all of us to the mountains.
Asking us to see, what we needed to be
And how we should save our planet.

Working for world peace, environment, and, our seas.
He called to us to be a part of.
The children were on his mind, and, all of mankind.
To reach out and be united.

I see an eagle who's flying
Free to roam the high country
I feel the spirit of the canyons
The whisper of his soul in the wind

Now that he is gone, we are left to carry on.
To take his work to the highest
As we keep working on, in our heart will be his songs
Until the day we soar with him

I see an eagle who's flying
Free to roam the high country
I feel the spirit of the canyons
The whisper of his soul in the wind
