The Peace Cloth

by Emily M. Parris (emily@sky.net)

The Peace Cloth is a vision;
A tapestry three feet wide
Containing so much love
And care and tenderness inside

For to honor John Denver
So many people came together
Each one sent their work of art
To be added to the treasure

It stretches 750 feet long
And was sewn by loving hands
So many people contributed
From so many different lands

The peace quilt is magical
As it tours around the world
At the United Nations in NYC
Was the place it was unfurled

A dozen people volunteered
To sew and help the cloth unite
Working hard to create
A masterpiece of such delight

It symbolizes peace and that
Joined together we are more
That in commingling what we offer
We are greater than before
