Hello everyone.
Spring is well underway now. It's time to shake off the sleep of winter and get busy with the business of caring on John's work. We have big shoes to fill - it's going to take a lot of us to do the work of one man, but together we can achieve great things. Make sure you keep up on the changes that occur constantly on our webpage: http://members.aol.com/tybrenn

New England News:
Our first 1998 meeting is planned. PLEASE NOTE THE DATE CHANGE! The gathering will be on Sunday, May 3 from 1-6pm at Miriam's house in Acton, MA. Please RSVP to Michael at pushard@telplus.net in order to get directions (and so that we can give Miriam a head count to see how many of us will descend on her!). If you already RSVP'd for the April date you do not need to RSVP again. There will be plenty of socializing and music. Feel free to bring any instruments, songbooks, etc. Also, if you can, please try to bring folding chairs, etc. as seating may be limited if we have a big group. Big thanks to Michael and Miriam !!!

Benefit Concert for Windstar: A big THANKYOU to Richard Holmes for taking this project over for me. Due to other commitments and difficulties in obtaining a location, we are most likely going to reschedule this event until August. So far the performers that are definite are Michael Pushard, Paul Swanton, and Brian Taylor. Any one else interested should contact Richard Holmes at rholmes@jlc.net as he will be handling most of the arrangements. This promises to be a great event! For those of you too far to make it to the concert, I have been thinking of making an audio tape of the event that can be purchased for a nominal fee that will also go to Windstar. Ever little bit helps!

The Cyber Cookbook is is once again open for orders. There have been many inquiries lately and we decided that we should give as much to The Hunger Project as possible. To order, email me to get the address to send a check for a minimum of $5.00 made out to The Hunger Project. I will need your email address and whether you have a PC or Mac so as to provide you with the online cookbook as easily as possible. We are still awaiting a number of checks from people who already placed orders. Please try to get those in as soon as possible. To date, I have collected $350. Great work folks! Thanks a million to Sandy for all her HARD work and LONG hours on this project.

Arbor Day is quickly approaching, possibly already passed for some of you. Let's see if we can all do something in our own areas for it. After all, the biggest thing that John asked of us was to "plant a tree". Please take a few minutes to visit the National Arbor Day Foundations web site http://www.arborday.org - each state has a different date for celebrating Arbor Day (for example, MA is 4/28 - 5/5. It also lists what each states state tree is, as well as suggestions for celebrating Arbor Day. If any individuals would like to plan group IAT activities, please feel free. Those of you in MA can contact either Sandy or myself to plan something for our area. Area reps should keep this in mind as well.

Earth Day is also almost here. I have had many suggestions that we do something, but nothing concrete yet. Anyone wishing to take this and go with it, you are more than welcome. Please just keep up informed of any plans. I've heard that a group in CT is planning a tree planting. If someone from that group would share the information, I would greatly appreciate it.
